Day 4

Time flies by fast when you are having fun, and for us it is already day 4 for us. We yet again began our day with breakfast. After our hunger was satisfied we began getting ready for school. Our morning walk was a bit more exciting as it was already the first day of minus degree weather in Denmark. At 8.10, we already started with our program where our wonderful chef Sebastian explained a bit about New Danish cuisine. After a brief presentation we already started our cooking lesson. Sebastian was very helpful and answered all our questions. We prepared a 3-course menu with the New Danish cuisine theme consisting of a soup (Potato with Jerusalem artichoke and artichoke chips and homemade flat bread), main course (Barley and mushroom risotto, chicken breast and an apple and Brussel sprout salad) and finally a dessert (Baked apple with crème fresh and a walnut and lingonberry filling). Our students really love working with Stephan as he is quite easy going, respectful, funny and very educated about cooking and Danish cuisine. We hope we won’t miss Sebastian a lot because tomorrow we will be working with Tomas the baker and as we heard it will be very interesting and all of us are very excited. After our schoolwork was done we decided to go to Lidl to stock up on some sweets and most importantly mandarins as we adore them. We returned to our camp around 4 pm and most of us decided to take a little nap. At 6 pm we had our dinner, which was not very eventful but an important event of the day. After dinner we went to the common room and played card games and generally enjoyed each other’s company. At around 11pm we went to our rooms and finally had a well-deserved rest after a very eventful day.
